The Wedding

Tiana as Mrs. Kubik

We did it!!  Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kubik from here on out!!  There is so much to say and want to say it all.  So here is the first installment.

The Bridal Party rocked.  For a group of people whose only connection is Thomas and I, we really felt that we had all been friends forever.  Maggie and Sabrina worked so hard to keep me calm and happy and laughing from 6:30am Friday, well into the next day.  Scott, Austin, and Mike were always so helpful and made Thomas keep his sanity.  Maggie and Mike were a match made in witty-sarcastic-hilarious heaven.  The two of them kept us laughing all day long!  Scott and Mags gave the most amazing toasts ever.  So genuine and funny… I never knew you guys felt that way about us!!!  Austin hung throughout the entire 4 days.  He became like another brother.  My, sister, Sabrina was so much fun and was the only one who would sing Hannah Montana songs with me. We love all you guys sooooo much.  We felt like our relationship grew and bonded stronger.  I hope that in the years to come that these bonds remain as we add more weddings, vacations, outings, and children (yes, I did go there) to our lives.

Now on to our little people.  I was a little nervous about what kind of condition the children would be in.  Would they be happy or nervous or upset or confused!?!?!?  Well, they exceeded my expectations.

Darian was amazing.  His heart was in his job of carrying the pillow. Then he continued to shine as he mingled with guests and had a great time.  We heard from so many people that he is so smart and funny (not that Thomas and I didn’t already know this).

Kylie and Jenna were adorable.  I gave them the option of staying on stage or going to sit with their parents.  They chose to stand and they were such troupers to stay through the whole thing.  We also heard from so many people that they were so much fun.  Sabrina is going to try to take my job.  She says they are her new best friends.  I also don’t think that they left the dance floor once all night.  Party animals!!!

And I cannot end without talking about the man who made all this possible.  My husband is the most wonderful person I have ever met.  He not only worked 70-80 hour weeks to give me the wedding of a lifetime, he put up with my emotional ups and downs and has been there for me when I felt the world was against me.  He has never let me down and I pray that as his wife I can make all of his dreams come true as he has made all of mine become reality.

GNO- Girls’ Night Out

I have never been one to be extremely into Girls night out aka. GNO.   However, Saturday night changed all that. My MOH aka Matron of Honor threw me the best bachelorette party ever. Most of those who know me, know that I am not a partier.  I don’t care for clubs, or bars all that much.  I definitely did not want a stripper or to go to a strip club.  I also missed my friends and sister and wanted to have some quality time with them.  So, Maggie took all this and made it into a fantastic evening. My attire was a white shirt with the Chinese symbol for love.  The girls wore black shirts with the Chinese symbol for support.  I should note Maggie had them all made.  We started at our hotel.  Maggie, Sabrina, Ann, and I hung out, answered some really interesting questions about Thomas and our relationship.  It was so much fun to actually talk with them. At 7pm we added my cousin Jay and headed out to dinner.  We went to Katana and ate at the hibachi table.  That is where the seats are around the grill and the chef cooks right in front of you.  It was sooooooo good. Next was my favorite part.  We had a tea party!!  We went to Goldfish Tea and sat at a Chinese Tea bar and did a tasting.  Jasmine Pearl Tea and Ginseng Oolong were the two best.  Then we got large pots and sat on couches and just hung out.  Sabrina and I were in love with the fish cookies!!!  Maggie enjoyed some tea infused pumpkin seeds.  Jay and Ann were brave to dried cherry tomatoes.  We ended the night with Mags, Sabrina, and I watching Garden State(I actually fell asleep) and Wedding Date (which I watched)  The whole night has me craving another!!  Maybe a yearly date???

Hello world!

My first wordpress blog!!!  Well, here we are, just about three weeks from the Wedding!  I am so excited and stressed.  Please call me if any of you are ever thinking of planning a wedding out of your state. Oh, the peaceful days we will have post wedding!!

I want to touch on the title of the blog.  Lotus in Bloom is pretty much how I feel right now.  According to buddhist teachings, we are all in bloom and while we all strive for a full blossom, it is not likely any of us will make it.  For those who do not get the metaphor, Bloom =searching for enlightenment and full Blossom =obtaining enlightenment. We are all a never ending work in progress.

I always feel like I am waiting for life to start.  I remember being in High School thinking, “Life starts after graduation.”  Funny thing is the same though crossed my mind at MSU.  Now it seems as though I am replacing graduation with marriage.  One of these days, I will just realize that life started way before High School graduation.  Life started way before any of us were born.  So, I need to stop waiting for the train that is already in motion and just enjoy the ride!!  Right?

Anyways, so this is me.  Lotus in Bloom.  Forever growing into who I am supposed to be.
