| Hotel Information |
| We have reserved rooms at three locations so that we can accommodate different budgets. Here is all the information you will need to book your room. All of the hotels are in the heart of Downtown Detroit, walking distance from the wedding site. Also, we will be providing valet parking, at The Atheneum, during the wedding. Please feel free to research and find a place that suits you. We also recommend http://www.priceline.com to get the best deals in the area if you don’t have a preference to stay at a hotel that we have reserved. |

| Atheneum Suites Hotel (wedding site) |
This place is more expensive but the rooms are suites. This means that there is a sitting room with a sleeper sofa attached to the actual guest room with the bed(s). So, if you are a family of more than two, or you just want to stay where the wedding and reception will be, this is an excellent choice.
Just call and tell them that you are with the Flack-Kubik Wedding and they will give you our group rate. There is a fee for parking for overnight guest. |

| Marriott at the Renaissance Center |
This is a more moderately priced hotel. Located in the Renaissance Center, this is a great place to stay. The reserved rooms are single rooms, although I believe you can get a suite if you would prefer.
There are two ways to book your room. Call the hotel and speak with a representative or go online and book. Either way you should use the group code: slkslka. This hotel also charges a flat rate per night parking fee. |

What to Do
|
| For a complete guide of things to do please visit: http://www.visitdetroit.com |
| Our top five recommendations are |
| |
Comerica Park |
| There is a home game for the Tigers scheduled for August 9, 2008. This is a great post wedding activity! Ferris wheel and other attractions for the Kids! |
| Our Story- We went to a game with Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor outing. Then we went again with UAW/Ford Child Development Center for a company outing. Thomas went to opening day with a company he worked for a few years ago. |
|
| |
| |
Campus Martius |
| If you just want to relax by the fountain or go for some of the entertainment this is a great outdoor space! |
| Our Story- Ah, we remember watching Campus Martius come into existence. We have been to the tree lightings and just want to Au Bon Pain for a quick bite. We took our nephew, Darian, to the first Winter Blast! |
|
| |
| |
Eastern Market |
| If you have the ability to take home some fresh produce and flowers, or just want to see a historic Detroit market, this is a must visit location. Parking isn’t always easy but it is worth the trip. |
| Our Story- There are too many good memories of Eastern Market. We used to take our backpacks and stuff them with fresh fruits and veggies from local venders. Occasionally we would eat at one of the small diners. We also enjoyed the antique shops that line the market. We used to serve coffee to one of the owners, who came to Starbucks often. We would chat it up with him in his store every time we went in. |

The Casinos |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
| There are three of them right downtown. Greektown Casino is actually adjacent to The Atheneum, MGM Grand and Motor City are located on the edge of the downtown area. |
| Our Story- We are not big casino people. We did play 5 cent slots with Corey once at Greektown casino! Also, Grandma Jackie, Tiana’s dad, Trent, and his girlfriend Violeta are casino lovers. So, we have been with them. |

Pure Detroit |
| This is our favorite place for Detroit attire and souvenirs. You can check out the design lab to see the latest up and coming clothing designers in the Detroit area. |
| Our Story- I don’t remember how we came across Pure Detroit. Maybe we were just walking along when we saw it. Either way, they have the coolest t-shirts and other things “Detroit.” We watched them change one of their stores into the Design Lab. A friend that we used to work at Starbucks with, Michael Delon, was one of their first featured designers. I own an original Delon skirt and Michael has become big stuff in the Detroit clothing design industry. |

| Restaurants |
| This gets its own category because there are a few fantastic places to eat! There are tons but we are only going to tell you our top 5 or so. You can find more at http://www.visitdetroit.com |

| |
Andiamos River Front |
| This is our restaurant. Hands down the best upscale Italian restaurant in Detroit. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is always top notch. The food is absolutely delicious! |
| Our Story- We first fell in love with Andiamo’s Bloomfield location. Thomas took me there for my birthday and they had a string trio come around to the tables and serenade us. When we moved to downtown Detroit we were ecstatic to find out that they were opening a location at the Winter Garden in the renaissance center. Again we went for the first time for my birthday and the waiter, whom we found out no longer works there, was the best. Everything he recommended was just about the best thing that we have ever tasted. The didn’t have a trio but they have live music and a view of the Detroit River! |
|
| |
| |
Fishbone’s |
Located under our wedding site, this is another historic place in Detroit. You must try the Alligator Voodoo! |
| Our Story- We have eaten at Fishbone’s several times. I, Tiana, remember this being a great place that my mom would take us growing up. Thomas and I first ate here together when we went to Electronic Music Festival at Hart Plaza. We had Alligator voodoo and took a break from the extreme crowd! We also had a very memorable dinner with our friend Brian to celebrate his birthday! |
|
| |
| |
Pizzzapapolis |
Great if you have kids. The wait for the pizza is about 30 minutes but it is so delicious it is worth the wait. |
| Our Story- No really great tale here. I, Tiana, grew up loving this place. So when we moved to Detroit, walking distance from the restaurant, I would drag Thomas whenever possible. I do remember we ate dinner here one New Year’s. On the way home Thomas gave our leftovers to a homeless man in a wheelchair. (Gave our extra pizza to a homeless man) |
|
| |
| |
Magnolia’s |
This place has great soul food! The wait sometimes is long and you have to drive to it from downtown, but I wouldn’t go anywhere else for catfish! |
| Our Story- We have taken my mom here on her birthday. We dragged my dad and gang here when they came to visit. The staff can be a little rude but most of the time they are ok. |

Our Vendors
So, since we love our vendors...so far... I thought I would give them each a shout out…
1. The vendor that excites us the most is our photographer. Just go to their website and check out their work. Amazing!! They are Mod4. website is www.mod4.com. If we have it our way we will be traveling to Michigan for 1st anniversary photos, baby photos, family photos, and just-because-we-want-mod4-to-take-more-pictures-of-us photos.
2. The florist was great because she sat with us and really gave us a vision of the hall. She brought out samples and showed us pictures and was very reasonable in price (the other place was double the price with no examples of their ideas or personal touch). So, Viviano's Flower Shop won the bid!!!! www.viviano.com
3. The DJ was actually recommended by a florist that I spoke to over the phone. They are also our videographer. We looked at samples from 2 videographers and they had the best quality. I guess we will really have to wait until we see their work with us to give a great recommendation. but for now... Mike Staff Productions looks great. www.mikestaff.com ... oh and we got to pick our DJ based on videos. We chose Lee Walch!
4. Reception Hall/ Ceremony site. We looked at three places. We actually had our heart set on The Gem Theatre until we looked at all three places. We finally went with The International Banquet and Conference Center at The Atheneum Suites Hotel. Yes, this is where I also had my prom in 1999. It has a Mezzanine level that goes around the main floor and a great view of downtown. They also had the most bang for the buck. Valet parking for guest, included our cake, most willing to work with us. www.internationalbanquets.com
5. President Tuxedo is the tux rental vendor. the manager, Jack was very helpful and is even going to see if he can arrange tux pick up at the hotel. www.presidenttuxedo.com Detroit location.
6. Bridesmaid dresses are coming from David's Bridal. www.davidsbridal.com
7. My dress came from a local Chicago shop. www.sarahbridal.com the were $200 bucks less than everywhere else for that dress.
8. Our invitations are pretty cool. We bought them through www.einvite.com. Amazing price. Costco members get 25% off. Then we caught a sale where Costco members got 40% off. We got them for just around $200 for 125 invitations. go to www.costco.com, then floral. you will see invitations there.
9. Our Save the Dates were the best deal. You have to be ok with doing them yourself. We designed them, the used www.vistaprint.com to get huge magnets for less than what we would have paid for the small ones that people design for you. We actually found a link from a coupon website that made them half off. So, $100 got us 200 Large Save the Date Magnets
10. Our officiant is Lynda "Ch'anna" Smith. She is an Ordained Buddhist priest. She is extremely nice and flexible to the fact that a big part of our family is new to the fact that we are practicing Buddhist. the temple that she belongs to and we used to is Still Point Buddhist Temple. www.stillpointzenbuddhisttemple.org
11. The Engagement ring and probably our wedding bands are a product of Robbins Brother engagement store in Chicago. They are great and come with a year of free concierge service. www.robbinsbros.com
